HYDROMECHANICAL CEMENTING PACKER

The packer consists of a body with a sealing element equipped with end protections and a hydraulic pusher, which is secured by shear screws. A step retainer is installed to prevent reverse movement of the hydraulic pusher. All parts of the packer are sealed with rubber O-rings.

SEGMENTING THE LINER INTO ISOLATED INTERVALS
After lowering the liner and flushing the transportation string, a 25 mm ball is dropped and pumped until it seats in the activation coupling. Then, the pressure in the tubing and liner is increased to 28.0+10% MPa, the screws holding the hydraulic pusher shear, and the pusher moves, deforming the sealing element and end protections, sealing the annular space around the packer.
